Hannah & Jarom // Bridals

Friday, August 21, 2015

Hannah and Jarom embraced a winter wedding and although the day was perfect, the winter setting, reduced daylight and temperatures limited the photographic scope of the special day.  Emily of Simply Emily Photography, based in Toronto Ontario Canada, suggested a summer bridal shoot six months after the wedding. Without the pressures of family, guests and catering deadlines, Hannah and Joe were rested, relaxed free to spend the whole afternoon with Emily at some of their favourite locations maximizing on the natural light of the afternoon and evening sunsets adding to the memories of the initial ceremony and celebration.

“I totally enjoyed the “do over” day, the relaxed expressions  reflected in the images perfectly capture not only our emotions from our special day, but also hint at the deepening love Jarom and I have developed for each other over the past few months as newly weds, it was also great to get dressed up and wear my gown again.”

Married at the Toronto Temple in Brampton, the first backdrop was the perfect symbol of their eternal union.  Their faith believes in a marriage ceremony that exceed “death do us part” and the grounds are specially created for photographic sessions. The white spiral architecture points high into the air with a golden angel trumpeting on top to as if to announce the union to the world. Hannah’s classic peasant style gown flowed beautifully throughout the gardens and the stress free shoot allowed Emily to highlight the gowns unique touches. Jarom relaxed rolled sleeves, a stark contrast from wedding day stiff collars, oozes with confidence, playfulness and love.

The second setting, in the countryside, echo’s the peasant theme of Hannah’s dress and adds a natural charm to the images. The “do over” wedding shoot also allowed the Hannah to be less conscious of damaging her dress and allowed the couple the freedom to be a little creative.

Emily highly recommends a post wedding day bridal shoot, “As a creative professional, I love spending this extra time with the couple, capturing their characters and having time to experiment with different locations, shots and angles without the time limitations and stresses of the wedding day. There are no other cameras, no other opinions and suggestions, just me, my camera and a couple.”
